About Me
I am a composer, orchestrator, songwriter, and musical comedian dedicated to a life in film/TV music and musical theatre. Recently, I graduated from a Master of Arts Screen: Music at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), where I was able to deepen my skills in composition, orchestration, and collaboration in screen media. I had the opportunity to learn from experienced staff and collaborate with students on short-form screen projects.
I am a versatile and sensitive composer who has a strong ability to work across genres and styles, with an important focus on storytelling and thematic writing. My scores for AFTRS student films ranged from musical short films like Interlude (2025), to dramas such as See Saw directed by a First Nations filmmaker, Nazareth Alfred, to a cinematic Visual Poem called The Passage of Time. Each required distinct compositional approaches: from diegetic piano-based scoring to atmospheric and grounded music, to sweeping orchestral grandeur reminiscent of Lawrence of Arabia.
My passion lies in integrating music and storytelling. For my AFTRS capstone, Interlude, I drew on frameworks by Lehman Engel and Howard Ashman to explore how musical numbers can drive narrative and deepen character. My accompanying exegesis, The Functional Analysis and Application of Musical Numbers in Narrative Film, reflected this research and demonstrated my deep understanding of the history and creative potential of stage and screen musicals.
I first discovered my love for musicals in high school and further developed it at the University of Queensland, working as a composer and sound designer for productions including Love and Information (2016), The Ugly One (2017), Much Ado About Nothing (2018), and The Unimaginables (2018). In 2021, I was one of five recipients of the Topology Launchpad Mentorship. I received 12 months of mentorship, and the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with Topology, and completed my first full-length musical, Great Expectations. I've been mentored by consultant Andrea Stolpe, developing my lyric writing and co-writing with songwriters internationally.
My ongoing work with director Derek Yang includes composing songs and score for the musical film The Wing Girl (2023), completed on a micro-budget and now streaming on Amazon Prime, as well as contributions to I Have a Boyfriend (2024) and Violet (2025).
Most recently, I was accepted into the prestigious Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program (GMTWP) at NYU Tisch, where I will collaborate with exceptional peers and refine my voice as a composer. My long-term goal is to create groundbreaking musicals for stage and screen and become a leading voice in the artform, following in the footsteps of influences like Randy Newman.

My approach combines clear, expressive communication with a deep understanding of orchestration, allowing me to bring cohesion and musicality to rehearsals and performances. I have conducted both live concerts and studio recordings, working closely with performers to achieve precise ensemble balance and capture the intended emotional impact of each piece.

I can prepare professional concert scores and parts for live recordings and performances, working across a wide range of ensemble sizes and styles, from small chamber groups to school bands to large orchestral settings, ensuring precise, performer-friendly materials for rehearsals and recording sessions. I am also able to review midi recordings and provide clear mock-ups and convert them to sheet music
